The typical range
Weekly pool service in the Houston area runs about $159 to $209 per month for a residential pool when chemicals are included. Our own plans start at $159/month for Partial weekly service and $179/month for Full weekly service, and the price you see online is the price you pay.
Quotes below $110 almost always exclude chemicals, and chemicals are $40–$80 a month in summer. Always ask whether chlorine, acid and stabilizer are in the price.
What changes the price
Pool size: pools over 13,000 gallons take more chemicals and more time; over 25,000 gallons more still. Pool type: above-ground pools are quicker and cost about $10 less per month. Water type: salt-water pools add about $10 per month for cell care and acid. Condition: a green pool needs a one-time reset (ours is $300) before weekly service can hold it.
Location matters less than people think. Route density matters more, which is why companies with a dense route in your suburb can charge less than one driving across town.
Partial vs Full
Partial service covers chemistry, baskets, brushing, equipment check and filter backwash; you net the surface. Full service adds netting and vacuuming on every visit. In shaded neighborhoods such as West University, Bellaire and Woodlands, Full is the practical choice. In newer, sunnier communities like Cinco Ranch or Bridgeland, Partial works for many owners.
The extras to ask about
Filter cleaning (every three to four months, ours is $150 for weekly customers), salt for salt pools, and repairs. A fair quote lists these separately instead of hiding them in a “starting at” price.

Is a $99 pool service legitimate?
Usually it is chemicals-excluded or a bi-weekly visit. Add $40–$80 for chemicals and you are back in the normal range.
Do I pay per visit or per month?
Per month is standard. We bill the first month at booking and then monthly, 30 days after your start date, with no contract.
